Framed 18″x24″ color screen print. Limited edition, signed and numbered series of 100.

The signed, limited-edition screen print is a fundraiser for the renovation of Hamburger Square in Greensboro NC. Framed prints are available for a donation of $250 to Greensboro Beautiful, with proceeds supporting the renovation of the historic train crossing.

The Hamburger Square poster is an 18”x24”, 5-color, hand screen printed poster made by Mischief Makers Local 816, the local Greensboro makers of Home State Apparel. The artwork is an original by professional cartoonist Kevin Cannon, and was commissioned in 2014 and released on t-shirts and posters by Home State Apparel. The design was updated in 2019 to celebrate new businesses and neighbors, as well as the renovation of Hamburger Square. Each color in the design is digitally separated out, printed onto an acetate, and burned onto a 305 mesh screen. Each layer is then hand silk screened, one color at a time, onto artisan paper from French Paper Company, a 140 year old family owned paper company in Niles Michigan. Aaron Pennington is the screen printer who hand pulled all the prints assisted by Chuck Johnson and Adam Collis. There is a limited run of 100 signed, numbered, and framed prints.

“Hamburger Square has always held a special place in my heart. When I first moved to Greensboro, I worked at Ellenburg and Shaffer Glass Art studio where Design Archives is now located. I was the General Manager of the Green Bean for a number of years, and I also lived in a loft next to Christman in the Historic Cascade Saloon building for several years; so my 13-year history of living in Greensboro has always centered on Hamburger Square.”
