THE GARDENS >
the bog garden
|

|
Within Benjamin Park at Hobbs and Starmount Farms Road
Right in the middle of Greensboro's urban setting is
one of the city's most unusual gardens. In contrast
to formal garden settings, the Bog Garden is much like
a nature preserve. An elevated wood plank walkway provides
access through this wetland for visitors to see the
many varieties of plants and birds indigenous to the
area.

The Boardwalk
The boardwalk is flanked on either side by lush growth of
trees, shrubs, ferns, and other plants. Many of the plants
found in this garden were rescued by volunteers from construction
& development sites. |
The Dr. Joe Christian Serenity Falls
The Dr. Joe Christian Serenity Falls were dedicated on September 22, 2007 in honor of Dr. B. Joseph Christian, founder of the Bog Garden at Benjamin Park; whose vision & ongoing efforts have resulted in this unique public garden. |

Benjamin Lake Overlook
Benjamin Lake Overlook is a popular destination in the garden
for young and old alike. Whether you’re seeking the
latest migrant bird, or watching the resident ducks, geese
and turtles, the overlook is enjoyable to all who visit. |
